Mr. Clarkson is an Audit and
Assurance Partner in the Sarasota office of Christopher,
Smith, Leonard, Bristow & Stanell, P.A. Jay has been
a CPA for 20 years, and has provided services to closely
held businesses, not-for-profit organizations, country clubs,
common interest realty associations and employee benefit
plans during that time. He has served closely held businesses
in diverse industries including retail, construction, manufacturing
and service. Jay brings to our clients the added perspective
of having been a CFO for a closely held business responsible
for cash management, development of internal controls, operational
procedures and financial reporting both for management and
outside parties.
Jay is a graduate of The University of Florida,
with a Master’s
Degree in Accounting. He is an active member of the Florida
Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Jay is a graduate of the Leadership Sarasota program with the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, is serving as co-chair for a day program for the current Leadership Sarasota Class, is a board member for the Gulfcoast Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and provides volunteer services for Girls Incorporated of Sarasota. He is also the former treasurer for the Sarasota Opera Association.
